My Political Outlook for 2024

I think we as Black people (and Americans) should start displaying our political wishes and desires publicly. This should be done as personal and community discourse. So here is mine. This should be observed and read as my personal whims, subject to change with further evidence obtained.

When it comes to the election of the President of the United States, the person that I have the most in common with is Dr. Cornel West. Before Joe Biden dropped out of the election, Dr. West was to be my vote. Now that Kamala Harris is running, I am open to voting for Ms. Harris. I am aware of her history as a prosecutor, and do not find her prior record of arresting Black and Brown people for weed possession inline with my views. However, I am aware that her being a Black/South Asian woman has swayed my community to entertain voting for her. I am also ware that voting for a third party candidate is really only feasible if that person has a large base and momentum enough to steer an entire party to vote for them. So I am open to falling in line with my community to vote for Ms. Harris.

HOWEVER, to Ms. Kamala Harris, if you do not take a stance against the Israeli apartheid and oppression of the Palestinian people, you will not get my vote for the very reason Joe Biden would not have gotten it. That being said, I will pay attention to your words and actions over incoming months. I would also like to hear your plan to reinstate abortion rights, give the American people free healthcare, and affordable housing.

I AM VERY AWARE YOU MAY SAY THESE

AND NOT FOLLOW THROUGH.

Therefore, I believe as a community we should pressure our politicians, on all levels, to keep their promises and to always support policy that aids the people and our communities and not their corporate sponsors/ lobbyists and bank accounts.

As for the other policies and politicians to vote for, I will not be voting for any candidate or policy (local orfederal) that is backed by AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. I believe this committee is a lobbying group that acts on behalf of a foreign government and therefore is a foreign agent. One that sways US elections solely in the interests of the Israeli apartheid government. They admit this on their twitter account and in their actions. I believe this Zionist entity will destroy American lives for the betterment of Israel.

On the subject of Zionism, I believe as many socio-political commentators and theorist, that this is a vicious inhumane settler colonialist ideology that does not represent Judaism. It upholds similar ideological beliefs as Nazis and therefore is the biggest perpetrator of antisemitism in the world. I am not scared of losing opportunities because of these words 1) these opportunities are not being afforded to me anyways due to the recent firings and rise in A.I. taking jobs from people; 2) I don’t give a fuck what an apartheid/genocide defender says, even if they claim God is on their side. I don’t need my morality to be approved by a higher power, my morality is based in the belief that I want people to be free of unnecessary harm and allowed to self determine their lives as long as it does not infringe on others humanity.

I will be voting to give women their bodily autonomy back. As a man, you lose the right to determine what a woman does with the life growing in her body the moment you decide not to wear a condom and have sex with her. You are not some sex-craved reproducing beast, you are a human and so are women.

This right to bodily autonomy extends to the trans-gender community. They are human and have an existed since humans have existed. Settle colonialism and religious persecution has erased much of their history from the earth. They are human and humans deserve to live and self-determine regardless of your understanding of them or not. I will be voting to legalize recreational weed. If companies can monetize it, I and others should be able to enjoy it without persecution.I will be voting for any housing affordability law that is on the ballot. We should be able to buy a house and companies like Black Rock should not be hording houses and driving up prices for profit.

Overall these are my positions. I will spend many days researching and understanding what is on the local and federal ballot to vote in these interests and I advise that you do the same for your political interests . Please do not vote to harm others. Vote to better your life and others lives. Please understand that most messages from either side, Republican and Democrat, are propaganda meant to reinforce the current hegemony. I personally believe that American exceptionalism is a lie and fading as a global concept, as the international community is starting to understand that Western (USA, Europe, and their allies) governments and ideologies are not the peaceful civilizations they claim to be.

We must remain calm and diligent. We must embrace nuance, as the current political landscape is not simple and anyone who tries to frame it as such is lying. Wemust hold politicians accountable at all levels. They cannot come to us for our votes, then uphold and create policy that goes against our interests and lives.

Remain strong, pray & mediate, learn from political theorists and commentators. I suggests we join local and national unions, as they have a lot of power over your immediate livelihood. I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the plan for many unions to nationally strike in 2028. A nationwide strike would help many of us in the long-term, but it will be difficult. Change is difficult, but complacency is detrimental to the success of ourselves and future generations.

Again, this is my political outlook and I am just a writer/filmmaker, and while I do have a sociology and psychology degree there are a plethora of people smarter and more informed than I. There are organizers in your area that can help you more than I. Believe in humanity, we must unite collectively. Believe in collectivism, capitalism will have you believe you are alone, most of human history does not support that idea. We can make a better society and humanity, but it will be difficult.

Be blessed.

Be well.

Have Hope.

Free all oppressed people.
